The Ontario government has made changes to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, aimed at preventing workplace violence and harassment. This legislation came into effect on June 15th, 2010.
This consultation - information session will focus on the employer’s obligations and steps they must take prior to the deadline to become compliant with the new legislation, including:
- Assessing the risk of violence in their workplace
- Developing or revising employee policies
- Creating procedures around workplace violence and harassment
- Training your workers
